27 Jun Important updates from the Trustees
After a review of its resources and capabilities, the board of trustees has decided to revise the Charity’s direction of travel. We will be seeking to make Human Aid a more efficient, lean and streamlined organisation. Our primary concern is value for money and safeguarding the amanah entrusted to us by donors.
Important Strategic Decisions
In order to improve transparency and accountability, Human Aid will be conducting an independent financial audit. We hope that this process and change will enhance donor confidence in the charity and our activities.
It is unfortunate to announce the departure of Lutfur Ali who was the Charity’s CEO. He was brought to the charity amidst great expectation and hope, but things did not work out and the board of trustees decided that it was in the best interests of the Charity for both parties to go their separate ways. We are looking for a suitable replacement and will make an announcement soon.
Human Aid is pleased to announce that our founding chair, Nur Choudhury is once again taking up the post to steer the charity forward. In a statement, he said,
“I’m honoured to be able to serve once again. When HAUK was founded, its focus was to help victims of war across the Muslim world and from persecuted communities. I will be working closely with the trustees and staff to reconnect with our founding vision and values. I want to request all our donors, supporters and staff to get behind the charity and support us in fulfilling our vision and serving the most needy.”
