Location: Manchester (Oldham)
Salary: Competitive (Depending on experience)
Contract: 1 Year (subject to funding)
Hours: 40 Hours per week
Annual Leave: 34 days (Including bank holidays and Eid)


Responsible for: To support the charity’s strategy by leading on fundraising projects, raising awareness, managing all fundraising activities to ensure maximum funds are raised along with awareness. The regional focus of this role is within Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.

-Providing necessary levels of leadership, direction, support and advice to staff and volunteers to ensure maximum return on fundraising campaigns.

-Oversee all fundraising activities and functions; initiating, coordinating, and implementing systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring maximum efficiency.

-Developing and presenting regular operational and financial reports to the Manchester Management, Director of Operations, Board of Trustees, stakeholders, donors and partners.

-Effectively manage and grow the volunteers to deliver fundraising activities and campaigns.


2. Campaigns and Fundraising

-To co-ordinate campaigns and fundraising activities at a regional level.

-Identify and research potential funding opportunities from existing and new funding sources.

-To identify and research the local market – strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

-To write a fundraising strategy, working closely with the fundraising and operations team to oversee its development and implementation.

-To manage the fundraising team in developing detailed action plans and timetables.

-To prepare and manage income and expenditure budgets for fundraising, ensuring that all fundraising continues to be as cost-effective as possible.

-To undertake hands-on fundraising work, working closely with other members of the team, but not limited to grants and sponsorship applications, report writing, developing and implementing appeals.

-To continue to reinforce and develop a centralised fundraising operation and to build the reputation of fundraising both internally and externally.

-Establish links with voluntary and statutory bodies to help promote the work of Human Aid UK and secure regular funding.

-Developing a long term sustainability plan and fundraising strategy for Human Aid UK.

-Organise traditional activities such as sponsored challenges, Mosque collections, seasonal and grassroots campaigns.

-Establishing links with sympathetic media outlets for fundraising and PR opportunities including ethnic TV and Radio outlets

-Developing and coordinating online fundraising campaigns and events.

-Utilising Social Media platforms and email to increase donor reach and awareness of Human Aid UK work.

-Establish links with voluntary and statutory bodies to help promote the work of Human Aid UK and secure regular funding.

-Increase funding opportunities by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the charity’s aims and activities

-Responsible for seeking out and securing funds for the ongoing sustainability and growth of the charity.

-Actively supporting and promoting services to secure new funding.

-Developing and nurturing networks and relationships to open up opportunities for the charity’s growth i.e. deliver advertising incentives.

-To assist in the coordination and implementation of national and local events when required.

-To attend, promote & raise funds for Human Aid UK at any event organised by other organisations.

-Plan and manage fundraising functions and events, including post-event activities and donor follow-up.

-Organise an efficient collection and distribution of fundraising pots.

-Maintain current clothing banks as well as securing new locations in mosques, churches, community centres or other secure locations events.

-To organise and coordinate fundraising and promotional.


3. Events

-To assist in the coordination and implementation of national and local events when required.

-To attend, promote & raise funds for Human Aid UK at any event organised by other organisations.

-Plan and manage fundraising functions and events, including post-event activities and donor follow-up.


4. Staffing and volunteering

-Responsible for the supervision of volunteers and interns.

-Management of all processes involved in the recruitment and induction of new staff or volunteers.

-Management of database of volunteers and updating records.

-To ensure a maximum number of volunteers are recruited to support Human Aid UK activities.

-To ensure all volunteers working on Human Aid UK premises are properly registered and have completed the appropriate forms.

-To maintain and update a volunteer database for your area.

-Train and induct volunteers into Human Aid UK activities.

-To co-ordinate and supervise volunteer activities.

-To service the needs of volunteers both professionally and socially.


5. Administration

-To ensure the maintenance of an organised and accessible filing and documentation system.

-To fulfil all obligations with regard to all aspects of fundraising and volunteer management.

-Responsible for ensuring accurate and up to date records are maintained of work is undertaken.

-Supporting and maintaining systems of monitoring that can capture and analyse performance data to track progress of the charity.

-Responsible for producing brief reports for the Manchester Management and external funders.


6. Finance and Budgeting

-Responsible for supporting the annual budget income and expense profile for departments alongside the Manchester Management, Director of Operations and London Finance Manager.

-To implement, monitor and review the Fundraising budget in the local and other regions.

-Maintain branch finances – CRM, Ledgers, Petty cash.

-Carry out Banking.


7. Meetings & Communication

-To participate in meetings associated with the work above.

-To ensure that decisions from any meetings or discussions are actioned.

-To respond to enquiries.

-To liaise with and make recommendations to management as required.

-To communicate with external organisations including local authorities, mosques, schools etc.

-To liaise with relevant departments and staff.

-To assist in actively promoting the services of the charity through appropriate channels and at appropriate platforms; upholding and promoting the charity’s values and ethos.

-To share responsibility for effective communication to stakeholders, donors, partner organisations and external audiences, and ensure that relevant agencies are aware of the charity, have the necessary materials and literature.

-To remain up to date on opportunities that may arise as relevant to the charity – including networking and knowledge sharing.

-Representing Human Aid UK at conferences, seminars and relevant events.

-Acting as spokesperson and media contact for charity when required.


8. Other

-To ensure the regional office is safe and secure at all times in line with security procedures at Human Aid UK.

-Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post

10. Additional Information

-Hours of work: 10 am to 6 pm, on five days per week, Monday-Friday, with a 45-minute lunch and prayer break.

-Undertake other tasks on the direction of Manchester Management if/when required.

-Be flexible around working in the evenings and weekends as required.

-Adhere to and ensure the implementation of Human Aid UK organisational policies and procedures.

-Seek to improve his/her own performance and be committed to continuous professional development.

-To act as an ambassador for Human Aid UK, upholding and promoting our organisational values and ethos.
