Human Aid UK along with a coalition of charities have come together to send ambulances from the UK into Syria. Unity Convoy is a display of humanity in its purest form.

The Unity Convoy believes this to be a strong message to the Syrian civilians, doctors and humanitarians that they are not forgotten, they are seen, they are heard and people do care.

The ambulance convoy is set to travel from the UK in to Europe for Bulgaria where, at the border the ambulances will be handed over to the Syrian partners of the project, taking the ambulances into Turkey, and then into Syria.

Syria’s hospitals, medics and medical facilities have been repeatedly targeted since the country’s brutal civil war started in 2011. There have been at least 382 attacks on medical facilities since the conflict began.

The conflict has also sparked a huge increase in people who need medical care and a major shortage of essential drugs and equipment. According to the UN, more than 11.5 million Syrians need urgent healthcare.

How you can help

No doubt, you are aware of atrocities that are happening in Syria. The constant bombardment, chemical attacks and shooting has taken the lives of thousands.

In Syria, many injured victims either pass away or deteriorate rapidly before they can receive any medical attention at hospitals and medical centres. These emergency vehicles are the first on the scene, responding straight after bombs hit civilian areas in Syria every day.

Since the start of the conflict, Human Aid UK has sent over 30 ambulances into Syria. In the last year alone, our ambulances helped save over 800 lives!

“And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely” – [The Noble Qur’an 5:32]
